Irish Rickey Cocktail

Irish Rickey Cocktail

Irish Rickey Cocktail⠀⠀
⠀⠀
1 Cube of Ice⠀
Juice 1/2 Lime⠀⠀
1 1/2 oz. Irish Whiskey @jameson_us ⠀
Fill 8 oz. Highball glass with Carbonated Water and stir. Leave lime in glass.⠀⠀
⠀⠀
⠀⠀
⠀⠀
This is basically another highball.⠀
The cube of ice is again important to make sure it is a giant cube (or as Japanese bartenders shave a block of ice to fit the whole glass).⠀
I do like this one better since the hint of lime is a better addition to the drink.⠀
It’s a very light and easy to drink cocktail.⠀
I think it’s a great addition to a post work drink list.⠀
Also very easy to make multiple if you’re having a party!⠀

Another amazing photo by the talented @reikomasutani ⠀
Sad to say the photos with her are running out!⠀
Can’t wait to go back to Japan and see her again to shoot more cocktails!⠀

Rory O’More Cocktail⠀

3/4 oz. Italian Vermouth⠀
1 1/2 oz. Irish Whiskey @jameson_us ⠀
1 Dash Orange Bitters ⠀⠀
Stir well with cracked Ice and strain into 3 oz. cocktail glass. ⠀
⠀⠀

Another Irish whiskey cocktail to help through the winter. ⠀
This is definitely a martini on the sweeter end. ⠀
The Orange bitters gives this drink a nice kiss of citrus that takes it a different direction than a Manhattan. It’s a simple but delicious cocktail. Would love to try making it with other whiskeys like @teeling_whiskey or @prizefightwhiskey Another amazing photo by @reikomasutani !!!
Cheers to a lovely martini!⠀

Irish Whiskey Highball Cocktail

Irish Whiskey Highball Cocktail

Irish Whiskey Highball Cocktail⠀

1 Cube of Ice⠀
2 oz. Irish Whiskey @jameson_us ⠀
Fill 8 oz. Highball glass with Ginger Ale or Carbonated Water. Add twist of Lemon Peel, if desired, and stir gently. ⠀

In honor of the amazing trip to Ireland I recently took my first cocktail of the year is the Irish Whiskey Highball.
Highballs are a very popular drink in Japan. People often drink it after work before heading home. If you’re a fan of something sweet I’d definitely make this with Ginger Ale. But it tastes good with just the carbonated water as well!! The key is the recipe calls for 1 cube of ice. Make sure you use a big block of ice. A normal ice cube will melt immediately and your drink won’t be cold. The next couple photos of cocktails were taken by my super talented cousin @reikomasutani Please send her some props for these amazing photos!!⠀

Kentucky Cocktail

Kentucky Cocktail

Kentucky Cocktail⠀

1 1/4 oz. Pineapple juice⠀
3/4 oz. Bourbon Whiskey @bulleit ⠀
Shake well with cracked Ice and strain into 3 oz. cocktail glass. ⠀

Taking a break from Gin and doing a Bourbon post!⠀
I could drink this cocktail all day. ⠀
It’s a great introduction for someone that’s not a fan of Bourbon. ⠀
For people that love Bourbon this is a great cocktail to enjoy it even more. ⠀
I can understand why it’s called a Kentucky cocktail. ⠀
It’s a great drink to be drinking in warm weather outside somewhere. ⠀
Since it’s made of Bourbon it makes it not as sweet as Rum would make the cocktail. ⠀
Highly recommend!⠀

Manhattan Cocktail

Manhattan Cocktail

Manhattan Cocktail⠀
⠀⠀
1 Dash Bitters⠀
3/4 oz. Italian Vermouth⠀⠀
1 1/2 oz. Bourbon Whiskey or Rye⠀@bulleit
Stir well with cracked Ice and strain into 3 oz. Cocktail glass.⠀
Serve with cherry.⠀⠀

⠀⠀
A friend made a request for a whiskey drink so I’ve decided to do a classic.⠀
I found out that there are 3 Manhattan recipes in my book.⠀
This is the classic straight up Manhattan.⠀
There’s just no reason to mess with something good.⠀
Per usual though I am made aware of the size of the cocktail.⠀
It is easy to have 2 cocktails before dinner when they’re only 3 oz.⠀
Lately we wouldn’t settle for anything less than 10 oz.⠀
My how times have changed.⠀

Los Angeles Cocktail

Los Angeles Cocktail

Los Angeles Cocktail⠀

Juice of 1/2 Lemon⠀
1 Tsp Powdered Sugar⠀
1 Egg⠀
1/4 Tsp Italian Vermouth⠀
1 1/2 oz. Bourbon Whiskey or Rye⠀@bulleit
Shake well with cracked Ice and strain into 4 oz. Cocktail glass.⠀

——————————–

I braved my very first egg cocktail.⠀
And like my first year in Los Angeles, it didn’t really wow me.⠀
I’m not sure what happened but there wasn’t much flavor in this cocktail.⠀
I was really nervous about the raw egg, but wasn’t the problem.⠀
The egg provided a nice creamy consistency…but the cocktail itself still just tasted watered down.⠀
Initial disappointment hasn’t completely deterred me from egg cocktails, but I do hope the next ones taste better.⠀
